So i received my 4x 780nm 25mw lasers today in the mail, together with the 4 120% lenses… shipping really was that cheap (3 dollar from america to netherlands, WOW, thats the lowest ever)

However i hooked them up to my adapter just i like i do with my 2 other lasers i have.. and ... nothing :(…
I tried 2 of the 4 lasers and both gave the same result…

Does anyone have any experience with the lasers from aixiz? Do i need to disassemble them first and hook something up?

Also the laser lenses were loose in the package, not in the lens cap they came with.. how do i put the lens itself in, do they have to be with the “waves” towards the laser, or away from the laser?

Update: Laser work, just make sure you power them with atleast 3.2V, they will not work at 3V..

Well its good to know they actually ship stuff, and aren’t a scam(well, they might be, who knows).  I think you are the first one to receive them.  What power supply are you trying to power them with?  You shouldn’t have to hook anything up, they should just work.  Try emailing(or calling, or by other means contacting) aixiz and see what they say.  As for the line lens, I don’t know, somebody else probably does.  A quick check would just be to use a red laser pointer(<$.99 USD at my local toy store) and try holding it up to the laser to see which way it works.

How long did they take to ship?  When did you order them?

Good Luck,

Alex

I’m using a adjustable power adapter which is capable of delivering 2amps smile i’m powering 2 other lasers with it atm, but i can’t seem to get these to work :(
I ordered them last thursday (10th) and they were shipped according to the stamp the 11th.. so it took 4 days to arrive from texas to the netherlands, but there was a weekend in between smile

Can you verify the power adapter works and is putting out the right voltage?  Try hooking a VOM meter to it and checking.

yep tried that all, and with the same connection the other laser is working (i switched them).
I’ve emailed them trough the shop, i hope they can provide some help. I don’t want to test the other 2 unless i’m sure its not something i’m doing wrong.

Wait, so out of the four you received, you have only opened two.  And of the two you opened only 1 works?

Just trying to clarify, mine haven’t even shipped yet…

Good Luck,

Alex

A simple line lens can be made from clear acrilic bar 6mm diameter should do the trick, or rip one out of a laser level.

Aixiz.com certainly isn’t a scam site.  I’ve bought laser modules from them and they are perfect.  I also know a lot of laser geeks who buy from them.

On the power supply, are you sure you didn’t put too much through the diode?  It should only take around 3v and maybe 200ma.  2A is waaaaaay too much and would just destroy the diode.  Aixiz tend to be fairly good at helping customers out, so it wouldn’t hurt to give them an email.

I’ve only test 2 of the 4 lasers, and they both didn’t work.. I’m comparing it against the other lasers i already have that do work.

Although the power adapter is capable of providing 2amps, as long as i only provide 3v for which the lasers are raded they should only draw 200ma themselves..
I measured 3v, but when measuring the current but i only could read 2ma.. so looks like either the wires aren’t connected or the diode is broken :(

My other lasers have a current of around 100-150ma..

When mine were delivered, one of the lens holders luckily still had the lens in it, and the ribbed surface was facing away from the laser. So I’m guessing that’s the way they’re supposed to go in; I haven’t had a chance to test yet.

I just held my lens up to a red laser and tried both ways.  The ribs are definitely meant to go inward.

Strange.. I guess they must’ve put mine in the other way around when they shipped them to me.

I emailed them, and they replied that the lens should have the ribbed sides pointed towards the laser.
I didn’t get much help yet from them about the lasers not working, only a reply saying that 780nm are near IR and therefor not visible with the naked eye, even though i emailed them saying i check it with a camera that had the infrared filter removed and an similair 850nm laser does work.. :(

And a second email in response asking pretty much the same by a different person :(

hii!!

it’s my first post but I have been playing with multitouch for a while.

I’ve ordered aixiz laser modules too, and it work fine but with other power adapter.

I don’t know if the power adapters that they provide don’t work with the voltage of EU. But if have tried another power adapter with the same characteristiques and they just work fine.

It’s possible that the power adapters that they provide only works in USA?

Here it is the specifications of the power adapters I use:

Input: 100-240 50/60Hz 100mA
Output: 5V 100mA
