Rear Projection Screen Goo can be sprayed on glass or acrylic to create a high quality rear projection screen.  It’s very expensive at $120 US for the smallest container, but some of the demos are very cool.

i got it 2 days ago, will test it next week on acrylic .... but i think it will be a problem with touching… we`ll see

Could you spray it on the bottom of the acrylic?

I think he means I might block too much IR light.

yes could be that it blocks too much IR Light, but the next thing with touching...if you touched many times, maybe the projection layer will get thin ..know what i mean?

the company says that the user should spray it.. will test it when i got the acrylic

I found a place by my house that stocks 120ml containers of the Goo Grey Rear for only $14.  I’m going tomorrow to pick some up.  I already have an HVLP sprayer so I can run some tests this weekend.

hm don`t getting blobs at my project, but i`m not sure if its the result of the screengoo or of the leds..they`ve only 5mW

Did you get blobs before the Goo?
Are you using lasers or LED’s?

used leds… my fault was i didn`t test it without the goo, time issues..^^
ordered now a new one…
i`ll give a feedback next weekend

Did you spray or roll the Goo?

sprayed ... there are some very little particles on the surface who may disturb, but when the projector was on, you didn`t see anything
tested before on a little piece acrylic with rolling the goo but ... forget it :D very crappy

yesterday i tested sprayed goo on the finished setup, but doesn`t work… without goo -> blobs, with goo -> no blobs!

carschdn, where are you spraying and are you doing FTIR?

If doing FTIR, you can’t spray this stuff directly on acrylic. It won’t allow for TIR if you do that.

hm i wanted to do DSI with Plexiglas EndLighten (so i sprayed directly on acrylic)
before i sprayed, i test it but DSI doesn`t work how it should, i guess at the moment i do FTIR :/

Well, I don’t think DSI or FTIR will work when spraying this directly on it. That messes up the properties of the acrylic and how light transmits which is why you didn’t get any blobs with it applied.

now i`m thinking about using silicone + projection foil or just the projection foil or .. ? what would be the DSI method?
