Hey everybody!
I’ve been browsing the forums for a while now, reading up on all the different techinques people have come up with, and figured it was finally time for me to join up and contribute a little myself
With the price of school what it is, I don’t really have the funds to put together a fully fledged MT table, but I have made a makeshift LLP using a laserlevel, spare piece of glass, and 2 TV tables
. It works fairly well for testing purposes.
I have programming experience in Java, Python, Lua, and a little C/C++, so I’m hoping I can help a little on that front while I wait for money to get the hardware side of things.
I’m going to school for Computer Engineering with a fair ammount of focus on embedded systems, so I’m quite interested in seeing developments in dedicated processing hardware.
Some ideas I’ve had that I don’t have the means to test (maybe someone else can):
Has anyone considered using a rear-projection TV to provide the display. This may allow for the thinner coffee table profile that many are trying to achieve.
With LLP, could you possibly do fiducials by producing an FTIR effect inside an acrylic “puck” with the symbol printed (tonner transfer?) on the bottom?
Thanks for providing such a great community with so much helpful information, and I hope I can add to it.
