Hi everybody!

I am planning a FTIR project with about 45-50cm Height. Till now, I finished the Alu-Frame containing a T-profile (40*40*3 mm) and L-profile (20*20*2 mm) and made some test with my Leds (20x SFH 485; 40* SFH485p).

The acrylic is 60*45cm big and its polsihed by a Shop here in Germany, really clear as you can see on the Pics below.

Next Step is getting the right Projector (Perhaps a LCD with Zoomratio of 1:1 or less, the Tubes out of an Rear projection TV or a DLP Rearpr.).

I mounted the 60 LEDs in 7*8 and 1*4 Stranges. It works really good. Now I have to try some Surfaces!

I bought 6 Meter of both Types, so i have still about 3,5m wink It was your Idea to do it that Way, right?

If you want to, you can buy the rest for little money. The hole length is too much I guess, but I can split them up so that shipping coast is OK. Where are you from?

Hey everybody.

Today I made this Setup:

Finger
8mm Acrylic with polished edges
Tracing Paper
4mm Acrylic
Camera

It works quite good with this Setup, but I’ll try to find something else to touch, bare acrylic is not so good for that.

Did you do the rolled silicone according to tinkermans method?  Looks awesome!  Nice work on the frame, I think I am going to redo my FTIR frame you way you have it.  The L shaped aluminum bars I know I can get at the local hardware store,I used very parts from the same manufacturer for my DI frame!

Great Work!

Hey JanGermany did you notice a difference in feel of the texture when you compare 5 layers to 2 layers, also which of the 2 work better. and were you an even finish with the roller or were there spots where the bumps were slightly bigger..

Hey everybody!

Last Weeks I worked on my Compliant Surface and now it seems to work very fine. I am very close to the target, so here’s a short review of my last steps:

I ordered 2 different sorts of “Rosco” from a German Company (rabenring.de). I think it’s nearly the same, in my experiences I found out that the milky one is better to drag than the grey one. I think it’s clear that dark Images appear much better on the Grey one, but I think the feeling by touching the tabel is more important.
The best way for me was to roll on the silicone directly onto the Rosco, no Xylol (This damages the Rosco!!) or anything else.

The Table is 90cm large, 55cm deep and 50cm high. As Projector I use the Toshiba TLP250, nice short-distance-projector.

Today I wanted to finish my Project but there was a Problem I couln`t solve so far. The Beamer makes a Hotspot on the Screen and so the Calibration doesn’t work. I have bought IR Blocking foil for my Table (which I can’t use at my current Setup) but it doesnt work very good. Where can I get a cheap IR Filter to remove IR from the Beamer Image?
