For all of you using the Xbox cam within Vista:

How do you modify your cam settings? I have been doing it through MSN (Tools->Webcam Settings), and I can disable the auto whitebalance and exposure settings, and adjust all other settings. But once I get a good image there, when I open touch lib, the raw feed is nothing like what I had in MSN.

If I go directly to touchlib, then it appears that the deault cam settings are enabled, as I can see the raw feed’s picture adjust the exposure on the fly.

I cannot find any setting in vista to adjust my cam settings. The Scanner & Camera control panel app doesn’t list the Xbox cam.

HELP!

Well I discovered that the raw feed in touchlib was getting all messed up IF I switched the res from the default 640x480, down to 320x240. When I did this.. it seemed like the raw feed had its brightness turn to high. I didn’t realize this and this false display caused me to beleive that my lamps / projection surface / diffusers were to blame.. when in fact, it was a bug in touchlib!

If I adjusted cam settings in MSN and then launched touchlib with default res of 640x480, then the raw feed matched what I saw in MSN. Now I have excellent blobs for my DI, although I have tons of rosco/vellum/mylar/ and IR lamps that are now ripped apart.

But I still need to know how to adjust the cam settings…

I have been informed a TShirt is on my way for my troubles and unnecessary expenditures.  smile
