*drool*

Btw, whats that ROI feature you’re talking about?

Great app Falcon!

The ROI setting is a Region Of Interest feature used on the FireflyMV FlyStream driver.

It reduces the area on the CCD in which to gather data from, increasing the FPS. The entire sensor is 768x480 I believe. In 320x240 ROI mode as AlexP has demonstrated, 112fps++ is possible.

but that’s cheating :D ...

Yea I know the sensor is quite large, but my table is pretty large too, so that makes it impossible to use a low resolution like 320x240.

Yes the distance from the camera to the table has to be pretty large, you can reduce the distance by buying a wider lens, 90-150 degree.

I tried out the 150degree lens with poor results, weak blobs in the corners, so I’m going to give the 90 a shot, will post the results.

I am using the stock 6mm microlens that came with the FireFlyMV dev kit. The only without the IR blocking glass of course wink.

I had trouble with blob brightness with the Tamron lens. The stock microlens gave me much brighter blobs.

if you were using Tamron lens with the DC motorised Shutter then thats the problem, if you dont have it connected then then the shutter is closed and its really difficult to see blobs… i unscrewed it and removed the shutter completely and it works perfectly…

i now recommend using the manual shutter, it will makes things a lot easier

No wasn’t using any DC motor attachment. I just looked into the lens and adjusted it wide open, all the way, then adjusted the rest.

hmm well we got the motorised version and i found out that if its not connected the shutter remains closed, and since i wasnt using it i removed the motor and and the entire shutter mechanism unit. after that there were no problems lens now functions like any other lens

I’m using the PGR FlyStream driver. I downloaded the latest one from their website.  I set up my config file Alex P style, I select Format_7 and go into the ROI settings.

X: 216 320 W
Y: 120 240 H

I’ll post my config file when I get back from work.
