I’m looking at the SPC900, which needs a replacement lens, but having a bit of trouble finding a 4.3mm (actually, 4.5 according some astrophotography folks) focal length lens.
Does anyone have any experience with varifocal lenses? Would there be a problem mounting one of these and ‘tuning’ it?
How about using a longer focal length lens and mounting it a little further out (ie padding it with something so its focal point is still in the right place)?

Most poeple have got their replacement lenses from an ebay seller, the link is in the wiki and on this forum.

I have a varifocal lens too, but you need to take off all the cameras casing because its too bulky to fit otherwise.
