What materials have been tried out as compliant surfaces… or are we all fixed on the ones we have… ie what properties do the compliant surface materials have to have… i’m interested in trying out some gels encapsulated in another material or possibly a type of teflon coating or bla bla bla.. needless to say i have a few ideas on things i’m willing to try out… but for the sake of ruling out what others have tried ( saving money and time ) is why i ask…

The materials that we have been experimenting with are suppose to emulate the human finger. The various materials that we have experimented with are silicone and various types of rubber and plastics (like shower curtains). Strange enough, certain combinations that work for one person sometimes won’t work for others even when they replicate it completely.  Keep in mind that the compliant surface in FTIR tables have to be clear in order to project the images on the surface.  We welcome your experimentation and wish to see your results.
