For an entertainment bartable I conceived flowing particlestream which can be influenced with your fingers.
I have uploaded a video to youtube. I will post the presentation video when I have received my grading (after february 12)

Fireflies following fiducial markers underneath coasters. Hihi...I figured out how they did it with the Progressbar. :D
Done in vvvv using the reactivision plugin.

[edit] I’ve posted a test capture on youtube for you guys to compare, bet mine isn’t working as it would work with REAL IR leds. Also my palms light up because I didn’t cover up the lights proper.

Some testing done with the moodstream, during the clip you can see me altering the settings for the particles. The streams react on multi-touch. The moodstream is part of an enhanced bar experience (movie coming soon)…

Very well done hype, looks amazing, and glad to see it done all in VVVV Seems like you have fixed your camera lag because this is very fast indeed.

G’luck when you turn that project in, I am sure you are going to get an A++

Doing vvvv for more than 1 year, nice use off the atractor!!! I bow down for you smile

You use textures? Stil trying to figure out what the best way to create a ‘particle stream’ is.

The way I did this is probably not the best way, if you look closely the attractor is powered by an LFO animation...you see the particles travel back in the other direction because ot the damper, I should maybe limit the damper to near distances so the travelling back particles are not seen.
The texture is a halo dot found in one of the vvvv folders. Trial and error use of the blending modes create a nice stream.

Jammer: The setup is way more primitive than other tables found on this forum. It’s a simple wooden frame (looks like a normal bartable) with a mirror inside, the projector is outside the table because of distance problems. The table top is plain MDF wood with christmas lighting taped to it, the Vivak (PETG) panel is placed between the lights and on top is another piece of MDF.
The camera is a piece of shit camera running 5 fps 320*240.

I am still not quite understanding, what exactly is (or ‘an’ for that matter) the “attractor”?  What also is the damper?  I thought I had a good grasp on all the different setups, but I guess I am confused.  I dont notice any particles going backwards, are you refering to the last video you posted?

Also, can someone explain to me better how vvvv works?  Is it open source software, or is there a purchase required?  And if so would there be any copyright problems for using it commercially?  Currently I am just interested in playing around with some of this technology, I really want to build a table VERY similar to the one you have now.  I began pricing parts today, and it seems very affordable for the average college student (like myself).  Thanks a ton!!

Attractors and dampers are vvvv stuff.

VVVV is free, although i think you have to pay a license for commerical work. http://www.vvvv.org

that’s right, you can use it for free as long as you dont use it for commercial use.

Thought it was about 500 dollar for a life time license
