FTIR LCD Table Question

Hello,
Please also check out my post in the special forum for LED’s and lights as well.  I am planning on building an LCD FTIR table, however i am planning on doing it this way:

=1-2millimeters of Silicon Rubber=
=Acrylic Panel with IR LED frame around it”
=LCD Panel=
=Backlight System with diffusers=

=Webcam=

Silicon rubber seems to be sticky material, not good for sliding fingers over.  What are some materials I could put on the top of it all, that are crystal clear materials that have good sliding properties?  Like clear paper, or something?

Also, does this setup seem good/workable to you?

Also, will the IR light stay within the Acrylic panel so if a child came over and looked directly to the sides of the acrylic (They are above the acrylic but looking into it to the sides) would eye damage not be an issue, or something similar?

Thanks so much for answers,
Robert
