Hi everyone, just thought this might help illustrate what my ftir setup looks like with different combinations of overlays on top of my Sorta Clear 40 compliant surface.
The Rosco on it’s own does work, but it’s not great for dragging. So I’ve been using plain sketch paper for a while which happens to give good blobs although you can’t really see much through it.
Today however, my Vellum arrived from ebay, and it works a treat! My blobs are just as bright as with the paper, and there’s hardly any visible difference between the rosco and rosco + vellum (apart from a slight darkening effect). I’ve attached a picutre for you to compare the visible difference between the layers and a youtube video comparing the blobs with almost zero force. For reference I’ve also tried some thin near transparent material, but that didn’t help my blobs at all.
The Vellum was purchased from an ebay seller called oriental.*.butterfly and comes in A3 Sheets, although I don’t think she has any more.
So if you’re looking for an ideal layer to go in between your rosco and acrylic, choose vellum! By the way, the images are blurry because I’m not yet using a first surface mirror.
