Finnish company called simply Multitouch Corp. has announced an product line which contains LCD-based modular multitouch screen system.
These are the guys behind Citywall i think and they have been developing these for couple of years. Seems to be very interesting technique that recognises hand and fingers and keeps them tracked as one object.

With 32-inch hd-ready sceen and ready-to-use linux-computer the price is from 4700euro

Little Steep, yes! But looks like a very elegant solution.
Not affordable to many of us :( Devices should cost < 1000 to make Multitouch popular.
New tech is always expensive. We must build MT devices ourselves now and wait for the prices to come down. But we will be ahead of the curve in development of software because of this, which is an advantage.
I will also try to get some more technical details.
My guess is also DI LCD based systems
Daniel D, I think you will have to sit in a long time capsule, before you want to see multi-touch solutions for less then 1000.
A good projector alone is already 1000+ EUR, as well as 46” LCD’s, let alone the additional components and time required to manufacture
