Sounds great Alex. Based on the screenshot, the image quality looks really excellent.
After searching a while back for a windows driver for this camera and seeing the amount of people that wanted one, I can say you’re going to make a lot of people happy (not just nuigroup) with the release of this driver. =)
Thanks!
What I’m really hoping for, is to have a full access to the camera’s hardware and expose it all through the camera setup dialog, so that people can fully tweak the camera. I’m also hoping that this camera will become a standard in our NUI community, because it is inexpensive and provides all the necessary features we require.
Hi Alex, I am about to finish my table and I need a camera. I was going to get the xbox one but this one looks very appealing. Can you comment on how hard to remove the ir filter from the ps3 eye cam?
thanks
cheers
I agree that being able to remove the IR filter instead of replacing the whole lens will be important for making this a cheaper/better way to go. I doubt it will be easy though. With my experience with the first eye toy(first generation black model), the IR filter was painted onto the lens. I got my hands on the second generation(small silver) eye toy and it had a little square glass filter which was easily removed. I seriously hope they didn’t paint the IR filter on the ps3 eye.
Try the updated files. I just posted the new rar archive.

I downloaded the new files but I think I already downloaded them. It said the files were up to date but I still get the image.
I even tried reinstalling

What I meant was to only update the PS3EyeTest.exe with the new one. The driver files are the same (and unlikely to change).
BTW, does you device manager look like mine?
Is the camera plugged in high-speed USB 2.0 port?
Also, try to exit and run the PS3EyeTest again. I found that this fixes the problem.
In future, I will separate the PS3Eye archive into the ‘Driver’ and the ‘App’. This way it will be easier to keep them both up to date.
