have a small problem and not sure if anyone could help.
im using tbeta with the ps3 eye and when i use the mouse app that works but the problem is when ive used the mouse driver the next time i turn on the pc tbeta or the ps3 test cant find the ps3 eye and i have to reinstal the drivers but if i use tbeta and not use the mouse app i can turn the pc off and on as much as i like and there will be no problems with the eye.
any ideas?
Thanks Alex for this great driver. My Ps3 eye has been working beautifully for the past couple of months till I broke it I guess when I dropped it. So from then on I got a blank screen whenever I powered up the PS3EyeTest App. I bought another 2 brand new PS3 Eyes and tested it with the PS3EyeTest App and got no images too… all giving 0FPS. Is it possible that I could have purchased damaged goods both times or is it to do with drivers or something?
Hi all
I´m a bit new to all this so pls bear with me.
Got my PS3 camera yesterday, and few hours ago a friend asked me if it works with windows. Thats what got me here, GREAT work Alex, keep it up. Had an issue with running it on my XP Pro x64, guess where i found the solution to that one
Here´s my question though:
After reading about 15 pages of all posts i realized that PS3 Eye Test App is not build to work with Windows Messenger, and Alex is/was gonna work on it all. So…
Did he actualy worked it out? If so, what do I and anybody else wanting this need to do or go to in order to get PS3 cam working with Windows Messenger?
If he didn´t… lets all hope Alex didn´t put this entire project on ice coz this is amazing work and having a cam like this (cost/performance ratio) work on more apps then just PS3 console would be more then great. It is actually a kick in the teeth to giant “know-it-all” corporations.
I´ve discovered another issue:
When running PS3 Eye Test App i can run all the resolutions with all the frame rates without any issues. But when i want to run AmCap i get black grainy screen, some green or pink flickers occure at the bottom of the AmCaps screen after changing the settings, but no picture/capture at all on any of the settings.
Noticed also that in AmCaps Devices there are 2 out of 3 checked all the time:
1. ATI T200 AVStream analogue capture (can´t uncheck/disable it here) This is only one messenger recognizes as a webcam option which i can´t use
2. USB Camera-B4.04.27.1
3. SoundMax HD Audio
I can switch between nr. 2 and 3 without any results though. These 2 are also recognized by messenger as audio (microphone) devices.
Heres what i use:
AMD 64 Dual core 4800+, 2.51 GHz, 4 GB Ram
OS: Win XP Proffesional x64 SP2
And PS3 application is v. 2.1.0.0130
Any info (in this context) i might have missed out on, just ask and i´ll provide it.
Hi
Me again
I have solved the problem. Simply just deleted it completly and then reinstalled it. Works like a charm even on Msn which answers both of mine previous posts. So now, Test App as well as AmCap works like a charm. As well as other options Alex have built in (blue/green/red colors etc etc).
Currently msn cam is set to 640x480 @ 30 fps… Beautiful
Having gone through this series several times I seems to be at wits end about how you make Yahoo Messenger accept the camera. The test works fine, however amcap does not. Yes I could uninstall and reinstall and thats fine but what is the step I am missing to make Messenger read the cam ? Outside of actually taking apart the camera which I want to avoid if at all possible, I really don’t know how to make it work. My device driver does say the camera is working.
To any and all that can help me thank you so much!!! Keep up all the great work!
I’ve installed the software using the most update-to-date version. MSN Messenger and Ustream only pick up the audio from camera and Justin.tv and Skype don’t pick up anything. My computer does not seem to recognize it as a webcam, only an audio device.
The test app works fine, but adcamp doesn’t see it as a webcam either.
Any advice? I’ve installed it multiple times with no luck.
I’ve got one issue though: The camera’s settings cannot be set from a user account without administrator privileges, it seems. Is there any way to allow this? Where does the driver save its settings, actually?
Magnus_est_deus/Wyatt Thurston: I had the same issue, I did the following:
1. uninstall the driver, reboot
2. install the driver, reboot
3. go to system properties, help windows to find the driver manually, because installation failed to install it correctly
4. possibly another reboot
5. plug in camera
(some reboots might not be necessary, but I wanted to be sure.)
It worked then. Oh, and be sure to have admin rights the first time you plug in the camera. At the first time, I installed the driver and switched to a normal user account, then I wasn’t able to access the camera and had the amcap problem.
My project is implemented by Java, basing on JMF which can be downloaded from “http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/download.html”.
After install JMF, you can run JMStudio to show video successfully with any web camera.
However, if insert PS3 camera, JMStudio will prompt “Capture device query unsuccessful”.
Could you resolve this issue?
