I installed it on my laptop running XP. First time running and it found the camera, but didn’t output anything. I tried the older version above [ # 76 ] and it worked.

Wow. I’ve guess I’ve never seen full 640x480 @ 60fps. It just seems so much faster than running the camera on the PS3 or mac.

I look forward to seeing 320x240 @ 120fps for video and eventually with freetrack!

My brother brought up a good point.. Why can’t it capture at 320x240 @ 240fps?

Ummm, ok.... Its usually constrained by hardware and the needs. What would be a good use of 240FPS in this particular field? I can understand the need in capturing the bullet projectiles at that rate....

Bullet projectiles are best left at cameras that operate at around 12000 fps (twelve thousand).

The Eye is rated to do 120 fps at 320x240, not 240. But that does mean it could be tuned down to 160x120 at 240, but theres no point.

Also, why in the world are you guys going to jungo, for the runtime libraries me and alex posted earlier in the forum?

I am working on dynamically detecting the camera version and properly initializing each one…

320x240 is 1/4 the pixels of 640x480 so it could possibly be made to run 4 times the frame rate ( in theory. ) That might not be useful for nui specifically, but it is useful for many other applications. Anyway.. This thread is about the PS3 eye and this is THE place to be to get the camera working on Windows so I figured the comment valid.

Throgors.. This is for a Vista x64 compatible windriver, not the vc runtimes.

@ Alex
Did your second camera have the OV0538 chip?
In Vista’s Dev Mgr mine is listed as USB Camera-B3.04.06.1 (the same as yours) not USB Camera-B4.04.27.1
although it still doesn’t work properly.

Does that mean you have a driver for the newer chip already working? If so could you possibly release the second driver so that it can also be tested until you have the double driver package finished?

Running XP SP3 here.  I have the camera installed, the test program has a distorted image.  I look forward to when you get this working with other programs.  I’m going to try to install the C++ think you brought up several pages back.

Edit:  I only got the distorted image on the older version at 50 FPS.  The 60 FPS version just said PS3 Eye found.

Anyone got “Missing wdapi921.dll” error when running PS3EyeTest.exe?

I´m running win XP with Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package installed.

Thanks
