Hi everyone,

My name is Tim, I’m with a company called Digital Dash in Montreal.
We have been working on an optically-based interface that is the first UI to incorporate real controls directly on its surface.
Check it out http://www.digital-dash.com
Email me if you have any questions:

thx for the lead on 3M Vikuiti products as a diffuser (the website says they use this for their projection screen).  Will look into it as a possible compliant-surface…

Only problem is that “ 3M Vikuitiā„¢ Rear Projection “ is usually sticked onto a glass surface, so in our case it would ruin the FTIR effect. It might work fine when using it like MS Surface.

Vikuiti is good in environments with a heavy sun load like the car (it reflects only 4% of incident light), but because there is a heavy sun load you need to make sure your camera can handle it.  Downside is it transmits only 50% of projected light. It also directs light in all directions, which you probably don’t need.
If you are planning on using inside I would suggest something else.
