First thread ever, here, and i knew it’d have been issues.

I’ve downloaded the MTMini package sort of a week ago, and used it with my only quality video device around,
a Canon MV600 MiniDV camcorder.
Everything looked fine ( i still have to build a box/glass/paper kit, but software was responsive; even the MouseDriver worked. Well sort of, without calibration.

Last time i edited my DSVL_config file, i changed values to match the 720x576/25fps from the camcorder,
and i tried starting Config.bat as always.
No visible changes except when i hit Enter - that should bring me to the Calibration screen:
Everything just turns off. PC reboots and Vista tells me about a critical error. Cool.

restored the DSVL_config file with the original version from the config_backup folder, and since then.. it kept crashing my pc time after time.

Hi,
You may just want to not change the DSVL_config file after completely starting over and re-downloading touchlib, and instead, when you run config.bat, edit the values in the screen that pops up there-no reason to muck around with the actual file.
Good luck

Nope.

Today my new Firewire webcam arrived - and i decided to give it a try. i bought it expressly for working with a MTmini,
i did as you said - trashed my old Touchlib folder and downloaded the new one,
I did not touch ANYTHING, yet the problem is still the same: i hit Enter to enter the calibrating screen and POP.. my pc goes off.

Well...its just a Vista problem then. No surprise there wink I guess you could check for drivers...do the webcams work with the regular webcam software?

Yes Rbedi, the Webcam works flawlessly with MSN,
and i don’t think it’s a Vista problem.. it worked, at first!!

Very strange. I have had a similar issue with a Logitech QuickCam on XP, but in my case, the issue was a reboot and “system has recovered from a serious error” message when I tried to use my webcam with Skype or other IM/VoIP applications. I was unable to resolve this issue on that computer, but the same webcam works fine with Touchlib, Skype, etc. on other computers.
good luck

That’s exactly the same issue i have right now. Only, with TouchLIB. MSN works flawlessly, yet i haven’t tried Skype.

I talked to both Logitech and Windows support, and neither was able to resolve my problem...you may have better luck with your camera manufacturer’s support than I did.
