Is there any instructions or tutorials to help new FD users to setup to compile the AS3 demo source to start with? I’ve been trying for a day and could not progress...thanks.

I’ve tried the getting started FlashDevelop tutorial and have downloaded the sample and is ablr to compile....but I got lots of errors when I tried to compile the filess in Touchlib’s AS3 folder.

I haven’t been able to find nothing personally but from my knowledge through forms this is what I have obtained

to run as3 sample files you need to:

1. have the latest java

2. flash player 9

3. update visual studio too 2.0

4. run the flosc server file

5. run OCS file

6. let your flash files allow the camera

7. open a swf and you should be good to go : ]

but then again not sure if this is what you mean cause Im not that bright when it comes to certain things so disregard if its bs : ]

Thanks for replying. I was asking more of about using the open source FlashDevelop program to compile the AS3 demo code from Touchlib.

I thought I’d resurrect this thread, since I can’t find any others on the subject. Is there a way to run or view the flash demos included in the AS3 folder of touchlib using flashdevelop?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew & laurent,
Me too...Flash CS3 worked for me during my free trial, but then I switched to FD, and I wasn’t very successful in getting it set up the way its supposed to be. I didn’t really get any errors, but for some weird reason, FD attempted to open Flash CS3 when I ran a program that I made - my debug/execution settings are all correct, I already checked that. The main thing that I was trying to figure out was the program structure, and here’s a thread in which I asked almost exactly the same question: http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/3960/ - but whatever I do, it still opens up CS3 when I try to compile...so I’m also trying to figure out exactly how I need to set up FlashDevelop to make it work. You’ve probably already seen it, but http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/1495 helps you get started with FD in general, but not as it relates to multitouch.

I’m still trying to figure out exactly how to optimally set up the /int and /ext directories, etc.

Any ideas?

thanks,
