Please try with Python 2.6 , the Python 3.0 has changed its syntax according to my knowledge. We have to look into porting the framework into Python 3.0.

Sharath is correct, in Python 3.0 they changed the syntax of the print function.  Try 2.6 or 2.5.

what sarath and xelapond said smile

Python 3 comes with a script 2to3.py that is supposed to convert projects to make them compatible with 3.0.  I haven’t tried with pymt yet, but I don’t think there is much of a point right now.  I seem to recall from the pyglet mailing list that pyglet isn’t compatible with 3.0 yet, even with 2to3.  Since pymt builds on top pyglet we might as well wait until pyglet gets compatibility.  Of course we should keep in mind any changes and avoid writing code that won’t work in python 3.0 when writing new code.  Here is a link to an overview of the changes to the language http://docs.python.org/3.0/whatsnew/3.0.html .

@kaswy:
i just love playing with the photoo app!! excellent work and thanks for sharing!

To be honest, I don’t see any compelling reason to upgrade to Python 3.0 this early anyway.  Its bound to be less stable then 2.x, and doesn’t provide any features that we absolutely need right now.  In the future once it becomes more mature, and more 3rd party libraries decide to support it(like Pyglet) then a switch might be worthwhile, but for now there isn’t really any good reason to.

Ohh, ok, thanks for fast reply smile
I am new at python, so I have downloaded the newest. I’ll try to fix it.
Cheers

EDIT:
Ofc, I’ve got another problem ...

File "C:\python\pymt\examples\touchtracer\touchtracer.py"line 20in <module>

"""
  File "
C:\Python25\Lib\site-packages\pymt\shader.py", line 11, in __init__
    self.program = glCreateProgram()
  File "

    result = self.func(*args, **kwargs)
  File "
C:\Python25\lib\site-packages\pyglet\gl\lib.py", line 63, in MissingFunction
    raise MissingFunctionException(name, requires, suggestions)
MissingFunctionException: glCreateProgram is not exported by the available OpenGL driver.  VERSION_2_0 is required for this functionality.

What is wrong with OpenGL then if pyglet is installed right ? :F

EDIT2:
Ofc it runs great under macosx, but my quickcam doesnt work here -.-

I had got the same problem before, i had a intel GMA based motherboard and the latest drivers for it supported only till opengl 1.4, so i think its driver problem in your system, upgrade your graphics drivers or what i did was i bought a low end graphics card( Nvidia GeForce 8400 SE just cost me 50$ in india for a 512MB) and loaded the latest graphics drivers. I have discussed this problem previously in this same thread.

Just tried out the new updates, and WOW!

This is a great step forward for Python Multi-touch development. I’ve already started moving the apps that I’ve made thus far from PyGame and converting them into plugins for use with PyMT!

Keep up the good work, and I look forward to the finished documentation as well, although it hasn’t been too terribly hard to wing it thus far wink.

Thanks, guys!

Hello

I thought id test these apps out but i have hit a wall!

I have managed to get the example apps to launch and i know that they can receive TUIO because i tested it with the TUIO simulator.

I use Touche as a tracker with the Port set to 3333 and the host to 127.0.0.1 and i know that it is transmitting TUIO signals because it works with the BBtuio test app.

But when i mix the two together nothing happens!  Almost as though the TUIO signals are not getting through!?  What could be the problem?

Cheers

This is a widget designed to be in pymt/ui/widgets directory. But it need documentation and refactorisation. That’s why he’s not included.
If you want to use it, copy to pymt/ui/widgets, but we don’t do support on it !
