I just recently got into the whole multitouch business and I’m about to start my project, probably a halo effect of the MS Surface announcement. Now gathering all useful info, testing which LEDs to use, dusting off my old Philips PCVC680k webcam, ripping the IR filter off its lens, planning to get the famous SPC900 later on and looking where and what kind of touch surface to use, whether acrylic or polycarbonate, what thickness, figuring what angles give best effect etc.
For a few days I’ve been in an insane state that I see a potential FTIR source in every window and other glass-like surface I see. 
I even bought a cheap laser pointer to test the tir effect on every opportunity I get. Did you guys go through the same stage?
