Hey girls and guys.
I´ve bought a Unibrain Fire-I b/w together with a lens without IR blocking for my FTIR-Setup. I was wondering if there are experiences with filtering out the normal light from the camera with exposed film negatives? I put already 2 layers inside the camera ... I mean under the lens directely onto the chip. These 2 layers didn´t do almost nothing against the normal daylight. How many layers or sheets do you use for the Fire-I-Camera? And is it the right position where I put them on?

Greets,
Richard

Anywhere you put it should be fine. For me with this camera, I wound up putting it out on the very end between the two pieces of plastic that hold the lens in the round focus dial on the outside of the case. I used three layers, but not sure why 2 wouldn’t work.

Normal sunlight has a lot of IR in it, so I would imagine in the daylight it would look a lot like a bright B&W photo.

Best of luck,

Thomas
