Hey guys,

i know there are a few of you outside with the Fire-I camera. We are pushing BBTouch forward and are on a tight time schedule. Right now BBTouch is using the component video compressor. We are using a fisheye lens with an IR-Filter behind the lense (LeeFilter 780nm) right at the place where the original filters are mounted.

I have two questions:

- i am thinking that an uncompressed video source would be better and more efficient since you do not have to decompress. Is that right? If yes: does one of you guys have experience also on OSX to give us some info (well actualy not for me, but for Ben!)?

- the second question is regarding my image quality. I am getting a very blurry picture with a LOT of noise. I am using this lense: 2,1mm Mini-Objektiv S-Mount M12x0,5 Fisheye 02120-SV… Do you maybe have some advise on how to increase my image quality?

I can’t answer the BBtouch stuff, but it looks like you’re lens is unfocused or that you’re using textured frosted glass (which your not). Could also be your filter may be dirty or causing it to be unfocused.

The filter is clean and as you suppose it has nothing to do with the surface itself… So it must be the lense ;-(( Anyone with a recomandation for a good quality 2,1 fisheye (M12 for the Fire-I)??? Not that it will bring something for the show on Monday, but afterwards… Or anybody with some mumbo-jumbo tricky tricks? )

No, I just meant that it looks like the lens may be unfocused. Meaning, it needs to be manually adjusted and turned till it’s in focus. =)

LOL, no… i wished that was so easy But this is the best result i can get with focusing the lense..

Haha, ok. Well, next step I would try is to take off your projection material and see if maybe that’s the issue. Then you can see how in focus your hand is when on the surface without a diffuser. If it’s still blurry, then it’s most likely the lens. Possibly the lens is not allowing it to focus at the right depth. I’m assuming that object on your screen is a square and it’s definitely way too blurry. You can get 120 degree or 90 degree (what I’m using) lens by “Swann” that’ll fit on the fire-i. thx for the info. I have to do some camera/lense research after the show. For now the current setup is really stable (nock an wood) with Front and Back DI running the new BBTouch release, but if we will come to fiducials i will be lost with that cam-crap
