You should find a mouse driving a car lol. Mouse driver! The license plate can say ‘TUIO’ haha

Saw this and couldn’t resist.

quick google images search for

mouse driving car

found this
hedgehog_car.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.myfreecolouringpages.com/transport_coloring_pages/hedgehog_driving_car.htm&usg=__lcROqHflZquhU_MvuvlF7jnnY68=&h=553&w=553&sz=21&hl=en&start=20&tbnid=_oiMq-adgggXtM:&tbnh=133&tbnw=133&prev=/images?q=mouse+driving+car&gbv=2&hl=en

and a couple minutes in Paint produced this…

@Perry:  Cool! Now all we need to do is to add color and convert it into an app icon smile

very nice app progen! thanks!
i was wondering if there is any mouse app that when you touch the screen asks you a menu/list of “what you want to do”, and you can choose in the list.
for instance: you touch and on the screen it will appear: “righrt click”, “drag and drop”, or “open” or some other input orders… and you choose.
instead of a plain menu/list it could be a “circular menu” with different options on it, where you can click using a different finger…
or a mouse environment responsive, that is, that acts according to the app that you are using: for instance if you are working on an office document and you touch it will give you a menu list adapt to the office document environment (like “select”, “drag and drop” and so on)…
just wondering…

All of these applications work on Vista 32 so it seems that you are either not doing it right or you have other issues. I know people hate to do this but.... make sure you have read the readme that came with all of the applications, or any document that tells you how to use the program you are having trouble with.

Hello,

I am using cubase SX3 for audio production and would like to use the internal mixer (see the file attached) in multi mode.
Is this possible at all? Here are the options I see from my nuby perspective.

1. Using it in single touch mode.(works anyway)
2. Developing a flash client which than talks to cubase via midi. (input lags, client server midi out -> cubase midi in -> processing...)
3. Using whatever code base, I am not even aware of and provide sort of multi mouse with > 20 pointer instances which can handle the cubase native interface. Hooking into their event queues?.

The multi mouse approach I see here is still stucked to a single pointer, right?

What is the right place to start on this?

Really excited about any inputs on this topic.
Steinberg developed a remote control for iPhone(sorry it is German),
http://www.steinberg.net/no/company/steinberg_news/detailansicht/article/steinberg-stellt-controller-applikation-fuer-iphone-vor-473.html
but hey, the size wink

Thanks,
RTG

Hi RTG and welcome,

Yes, the TUIO mouse is a single pointer only. If cubase can recieve OSC, you can send OSC messages directly from the tracker (tbeta, touchlib, bbtouch, touche, etc) to cubase and map out what you want. Or else you can try a OSC to midi program that’ll send to cubase. You won’t be able to actually get multiple pointers into cubase, you’ll just be able to send midi/osc to it which will control the interface.

Hello Seth,

many thanks for your welcome and this lightning fast reply to my questions wink, It clarifies a lot.
I have to understand if the programming security from cubase allows to intercept these events at all.
But I would also expect that it’s only capable to accept one pointer.

So it looks like I have to use midi. Are there any advices from your side which lib to use and what is required for the midi part?
I am checking the forums anyway, but preferences from more experienced people might give a kick into the right direction.

Thanks,
RTG

Hi RTG,
prehaps the work of Mathieu Chamagne can help you, if you don’t be afraid by Max/Msp.
See here: http://www.mathieuchamagne.com/forum/mmf-in-action/mmf-demo-1/#p31

Hi,
I’m trying to setup the TUIOmouse on my WinXp machine. The app seem to get the data alright: the “Dist. between points” value changes correctly, but my mouse does not move. Do i have to “install” the driver to the system somehow, or is it simply not made for XP, i saw above you where mentioning it’s made for Vista?
cheers
cj

edit: oh, sorry. activation was the key to success…

Hi Nawid

You do not need to place the TUIOMouse application in any specific folder. It runs on its own seperately from tBeta although tBeta provides TuioMouse with the necessary data to move the mouse.  As for your error, I am not entirely sure what seems to be the problem since I cannot reproduce the error on my end.  From what I could see the application has not even gone past the step of trying to load the xml file.  You could be missing some dlls. Could I know what OS are you running this on?

Well, I’ve never tested it on the Media Center Edition of Windows XP. Maybe you can try running it on another PC to see if it works?
