I was talking to Techndai about MTChalk and we both agree that the beauty of MTChalk is in its simplicity. The way in which multiple users can be creative without interfering with each other (a down side of Photo app for example where extra blobs can really mess things up!) is great but at the same time they can interact and communicate in a creative and artistic way. I belive this kind of application could go a long way in educational setting.

These are a few reasons why it deserves its own banner on these forums wink

congratulations

Hey once more a super slick app!  Fairlane you the man grin

But how do i get this to work on os x flash?  I tried to change the extension with .swf but that didn’t work?  Not that i thought id would but it was worth a try!

Also i installed the Flash standalone player.  However it doesn’t standalone!?  To use it i have to drag n drop the flash apps into safari.  This means that i cannot get a full screen app without the safari window around it.

Im sure the two problems that i have are relatively simply to solve.  Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers Big Ears!!!

Yeah you need a mac projector which is .app but Fairlane would have to publish it as that. As for the Standalone player it should launch when you double click on a .swf. Curious....

@gordee, @ajlovegrove.

Thank you very much guys for your kind words! It’s great to know people are enjoying the applications I’m making.
Going back to when I was thinking of what kind of application to make, that was one of the reasons why I started a multi-user paint-style application.
I wanted to be able to ‘share’ the stage with other users without them interfering in my “work-of-art” tongue wink

It kind of progressed into a chalk board as a good idea for a ‘holder’ for the paint area, and ChalkMT was born tongue laugh

ajlovegrove, I have compiled a MAC test version. Can you please try this and let me know if it works? I don’t have a MAC so I can’t test it…

You can download it here

Hello!

A few problems others may be able to help with?!  Running the demo flash apps on os x is possible if i drag them into my web browser (safari) but it is not possible to double click on the .swf files and have them run in this illusive stand alone flash player!  This is until i unzipped MTchalk and ran it.  Now if i double click on a .swf flash demo they launch MTchalk as well as the demo app?!  I have attached some pics to show you what i mean.

Cheers

AJ,

right-click on one of the .swf files and open the info window for that file (or press the “apple” and “i” button). In the info window search for the “open with” dropdown list. Now choose the Flash Player - if you want, you can use the “apply this to all documents” button belove the dropdown to assign .swf generally to flash player. If you need more control, you can allways right click on a document icon and use the “open with” (the second option in the german OSX version)…

Cheers,
