ok, i have found a local supplier that can get me a sheet of acrylite Endlight at a good price, $1550 for a 120” x 80” 10mm thick (3/8 inch)
Now I can have them cut it into 10 sheets which would be 39 x 22 which is 16x9 (leaving an extra inch out for cutting)
If I can get at least 7-8 guys in on this, I will front the cash and pick it up and you guys can pay me via payal or something.
If you want a 4x3 ratio I’m pretty sure their is extra to cut 2-4 in 4x3
But to get a 39x22 sheet of Endlight at $155 (plus whatever shipping is) seems like a good deal

PM Me if you think you might want one, I need to get around 7-8 people before I can order

PeauProductions in for 1
mjenison in for 1
Alcalol in for 1
jordansmith in for 1

4 to go!

Well, a 39x22inch screen ( 44.78 inch diagonal) is damn close to my 43x24inch screen I had planned to make soon, but it was going to be a LLP...hmm...if you can get enough people, count me in. smile

What is Acrylite Endlight?  Is there an advantage over the regular Acrylic 1/2 inch?

Here is what DSI is and why the Englighten Acrylic is so cool::  http://wiki.nuigroup.com/Diffused_Surface_Illumination

Basically think an FTIR table without the need of a compliant surface.  The problem is that the acrylic is usually much more expensive than most people want to deal with, as you can see above, but if we buy in bulk and cut it, it is VERY reasonably priced.

am very very interested.

however,
theres a supplier in singapore that ships that endlighten to malaysia tho i don’t know if they’d cut to spec… hope they do since itll be much more cost effective shipping wise :] so i’ll let you know soonest. any deadline?

btw, have you seen this screen?
http://www.professionalplastics.com/ACRYLITERP

if that screen has similar properties to endlighten, and similar in price, it would be a great choice since theres no need for a projection layer.hmmm..

I might be interested.  What thickness would the sheet be?

EDIT: Nevermind, re-read first post (10mm).  I’ll take one.

ok so i just got feedback, and they sell it in sheets of 80by120 too…
also, the Acrylite® RP Rear Projection Acrylic seems to be too thin for a mt screen..
unless its used with another clear acrylic layer to support this thin one… oh, and that rear projection acrylic comes in clear

My god. It’s so expensive. Only $242 for 1200x2000(mm) 20mm thick in china.
