Keep in mind guys, finding a shop that sells Endlighten is one thing, but getting a small enough piece you can afford or work with is a different story.
i built an FTIR screen and spent days and nights working on a complaint surface and nothing seems to be good enough for me
so let me get this straight with the Endlighten acrylic all i need is:
-Endlighten (and led rails)
-LCD screen
-Acrylic to hold screen
-camera
and are the results comparable to LLP setup as i was trying to build one, but finding materials over here is extremely hard and i failed to find any IR lasrers
Hi Folks,
Came across the forum which sits within an area where I have had a lot of experience from the imaging perspective. I see there is a discussion on rear projection material. We have probably the solution you are all after. ICE Dupix is a ploymer 360 deg polymer that is available in adhesive or non. We regularly use it for rear projection and esp touch scenario’s. One project last year we did was for Hewlett Packards HQ here in Auckland was 2.4m touch screen with Nextwindow.com
ICE Dupix allows us to create any piece of glass, polycarbonate, acrylic, shop window in to a perfect projections screen delivering exactly the same image viewable image from both sides simulatenously. This allows unlimited flexibility in regards to viewer and projector position.

The ICE Dupix polymer is perfectly even in light distribution with absolutley no hotspotting and same brightness both sides of the screen.
We could supply this forum the polymer cut to requirements and posted in tubes. You could source the substrate at your end.
everyone who is living in europe should check out https://www.plexiglas-shop.com for Endlighten Acrylic.
They sell a 10mm thick Acryllic for 192,70€ per square meter.
The local Professional Platics distributor in Tualatin, Oregon (close to Portland) has told me that he could get a 3/8” x 60” x 80” sheet for something around $550 (I don’t remember the exact price), plus shipping from Maine. And that he is able to get just one sheet. I’m thinkin’ about it.
OK, so assuming my math is correct for that 80"x60" piece, you can get the following pieces out of it:
*16:9 Ratio*
(6) 20"x35.5"=41" diag
or
(2) 33.75"x60"=69" diag
*4:3*
(9) 20"x26.6"=33" diag
or
(4) 30"x39.9"=50" diag
Not bad, Im sure we could round up some people to buy into this if we needed to bulk buy
Same company, but evidently different distributors have made different deals with the main company. The first time I spoke to the guy (yesterday) in Tualatin, Oregon he wasn’t sure if he could get only one sheet. But he called me back this morning (like he said he would) and told me that yes their office was able to get single sheets. He said that not all other dealers were able to do that. I wasn’t sure if he was just trying to keep me from going to somebody else or if it was real.
But he was nice and did what he said he would do so I wouldn’t mind giving him some business.
Since the PS3Eye is roughly 4:3 I was thinking of going in that direction. Otherwise it seems like I would be wasting resolution. Is there a specific reason that so many folks seem to want to go with 16:9 or square? Just wondering if I’m missing something here....
Peau did you get a sheet from this original order? How is it to work with?
It was supposed to ship last Friday, but havent heard anything nor have I received it. Wont be able to test it until I get my lights, which will be a bit longer due to other expenses (a new DELL XT so I can have a mutlitouch laptop to code on, etc )
hrm, well if you can manage to get a sheet from this guy in portland, perhaps you can
mail me his contact info. id be interested in asking if he can ship to north carolina.
Rothrock - I’m pretty close to Portland myself. If you do end up getting the Endlighten, let me know! I’d definitely be interested - esp. since I wouldn’t have to pay shipping.
