Hi everybody,
This is my first post of my FTIR surface and program that I wrote in c#/wpf that connects to my phone over bluetooth and displays image on surface.
I would appreciate any comments/ideas/feedback.

That’s awesome.. I’ve been struggling trying to get bluetooth connectivity. Will it pair with other bluetooth phones if they are enabled?

I think it would be great if you could create a well where you could drop your phone into, so you can skip the circling of the phone..

It would be great if you could share the code for the bluetooth connectivity.. PM me if you can, because I’d love to chat with you to see how to did it.

Thanks,

Yea it can be paired with other phones but I have it filtering out for testing purposes.
My next step is to remove the circling and just have it transfer when the phone is placed on the surface.
Ill be glad to share the code once I get it cleaned up a little.

nice result!

What I would like to see is a faster transfer rate, almost instantaneous whenever you place ur phone on the surface.

Thinking of considering a dsi method to detect when and where a phone is placed?

I hoping to get faster transfers soon with the bluetooth but the speeds are a little limited.
I am also hoping to combine the FTIR and DSI methods but if that does not work I want to switch to DSI or DI for this.

The other idea that was talked about in another post is to start the connection and transfer process as soon as it is detected on bluetooth and then when placed on the table it just grabs the photos from the local folder where they have already been transferred to.

I’m bad about monitoring posts so if you have a question regarding something I’ve said, then just send me a PM.

That is a really great idea. I will try to implement that and let you know who that goes.

I was talking to Taha about something like this but instead of using Bluetooth, have 2 cell phones that work with MMS and have 1 plugged into your computer and have an application load the images from the phones folder. So when I use the other cellphone and send a picture to the cell phone thats plugged into the computer it load right onto the screen.

This is very cool been trying to do similar myself had few problems though. Can it handle multiple phones at once and if they are different brands does it still work. Would love to see it when you have it cleaned up i like the circle round it though think that it looks good.

The code Im working on now just looks for folder names such as “DCIM”, “PHOTOS”, and “CAMERA” on the device until it finds the pictures. then it connects and transfers to the surface. I have not tried multiple device yet but I believe it should when I finish this version of the code.

If anyone has any other ideas on how to do this or has a database of phone directories let me know.

no it does not use fiducials right now because might setup is FTIR. The program is in its early stages right now so i just have it recognize my gesture and connect to the phone im testing on.
