hey Cdog, first off, great great work on your MT!  i’m curious though, do you have a final pricetag on how much you spent all together to make it?

Hey,

thank you. grin

I spent round about 3.700 € alltogether (including 3 further cams for the multi-cam setup) for the whole project.

Hi Cdog,

I was wondering if you have any updates about how does the fiducial tracking work.
Are you able to track them through the 7D006 ?
I’m asking because I found posts saying that the fiducial are not clear enough.

Thanks

Hi,

no, sorry - no updates yet. :-(

I haven’t worked on my table for some weeks now. The last results with fiducials weren’t very good but I think that has to do with my setup (DSI) in particular.

I’m working on another table (DI) in our office at the moment and we had very good results with the recognition of the reactivision fiducials in different sizes (with 7D006).

Hey,

thanks for the fast reply.

do you have added some other material [acrylic, glass, ...] on top of your 7D006 in order to protect it ?

No, in both cases the 7D006 is the top layer (the more matt side upwards) because of the good haptic.

and the 7D006 does not get scratched ?
are you interacting with it with a lot of precaution [ie. your fiducials are just made of paper, ...], or is it not as fragile as it seems ?

Thanks.

No, in my opinion it doesn’t get scratched so easily as long as you don’t use something sharp or spiky like a knife or a screwdriver. Otherwise Microsoft wouldn’t use it for a 12.000 € table, right? wink

By the way: our fiducials are made out of paper and cardboard.

ok, good to know. I don’t think I will be using my setup with knifes or screwdrivers wink.

But I thought that the Microsoft Surface had an other layer on top of the 7D006, well this is what I read somewhere in the forum.

Anyway, thanks for all the info.

Hey,

no, it’s definitively the top layer. I already had the chance to touch it. grin

one more question smile

I ordered a sheet of 70cmx53cm of 7D006. I planning to place it on a frame which has 1.5cm edges.
Is a 7D006 sheet of that size going to easily bend in the middle ? should I consider to make my edges wider ?

Thanks.

At best you’ll just try it first without making the edges wider. Maybe it won’t bend at this size.

Hey cdog !

I am trying to build a table similar to yours. Similar in size, and similar in projector. I am now in the process of testing the beamer/mirror system with a paper sheet placed as the table’s top on top of four pillars of the right height (55 cm). However, I just can’t get the screen to display correctly. My problem being the trapezium distortion effect. I don’t know how to correct it, knowing that my EW25’s correction is already maxed out.

Would it be possible for you to give me something like the angles of your mirror and projector, and there relative distance (approximations, of course) , please ?

Thanks

Edit : Ok, never mind my questions. I didn’t see you had it upside down. That changes everything :D.

Glad to read that you’re building a similar table. How’s your progress? Does everything went well so far?

No, no updates yet. :-(
I haven’t turned on my table since last summer I assume. The project’s on ice until there’s a version of CCV which supports up to 4 PS3 Eye cams at a time.
Or has it already been released?
If so, keep me posted.
