The original lens has an IR blocking coating. You have to make sure that your lens doesn’t have such a coating.

You mean the original IR-filter?
I removed it to insert the bandpass filter...

In this image, there’s a slight red glow visible in the lens. A red glow is an indicator of an IR blocking coating.

Oh sorry for confusing - I’m not using that lens.
It’s just a remnant from the cheap USB cam I dismounted to get the lens holder you see in the picture…

Hi cDog,

where are you coming from? I guess Germany wink.
My plans are the same as yours to create a MultiTouch table.

Thus I am using the DI method - but with one same components:

PLEXIGLAS® 7D006
PLEXIGLAS XT

How are you compounding these two glasses? With glue?

Ciao Timothy

Hey,

no, I didn’t glue them together. The 7D006 is just laying above the EndLighten in my setup respectively the lid which has the 7D006 glued inside is laying on the table and is fixed with magnetic band. There’s no gap between the EndLighten and the 7D006.

Short but promising update:

Thanks to CCV (new version of tBeta with new name) I’m getting blobs now.
Erm...and maybe thanks to another fact, I’m ashamed to mention here…
I didn’t bother to switch the projector on during my last tests, because I thought it also has to work without a projected image and has nothing to do with the rest, but that seemed to be a mistake.

Today I switched the projector on, laid the lid including the 7D006 on my EndLighten, closed the doors of my box and darkened my room.
I got the same bad results as before but after testing CCV I suddenly got some blobs.
Tomorrow I’m gonna improve my settings in CCV to get better results.
But enough for today...I’m very exicted and happy enough for the moment smile

Hallo CDog !
That is some good news indeed! (Gl├╝ckwunsch!)
Been following your progress from afar for a while now, hope it all continues to go well with your LEDs and Endlighten wink

just sharing my experience in DSI, I have a set up

Endlighten
Clear Acrylic
Custom Projection Film

And I got good results using CCV. At least with calibration, I could interact decently with my MT application.

Unfortunately I do not have videos or photos with me now.

Edit:
ir1.jpg

The people holding the endlighten were illuminated quite well which is the DI effect that we want.

cdog,

have look on one of the frame variants, which might be easier to do:  http://zvi.home.ge/pictures/?dir=multitouch

how are you satisfied with 7D006? do you like how it performs?

Hm I can see no difference between the 4 picture (FTIR_frame_concept.jpg to FTIR_frame_concept4.jpg).
Which conceptS do you mean? I’m seeing only one, but that looks nice. I like the corner-thing, because I also thought about fixing the plexiglas, but hadn’t a good idea.
I think, this should work out fine.

The 7D006 is very nice. I have a clear and bright picture and it feels very smooth while dragging.
But be careful with it, because other members say it scratches very easily.

Update:

My table is actually finished. Many many thanks to everyone who was/is involved - only you made that possible!
Now I have to calibrate it and hopefully soon to update it with multiple cams.

You can find all the updates from the last 3 weeks in my blog.
Here’s a sneak preview:

there is no difference between these 4 pictures, they are the same, just from different viewpoints. I made this frame for my first FTIR table.

your table look cool!  it should be noisy and windy smile

Thanks for your nice comments smile

I also wanna see a video, because that would mean, that the table works properly :D
Unfortunately it doesn’t at the moment, because I’ don’t get good blobs all over the surface - only in the middle of my table.

Maybe someone can tell me good CCV-values or even explain the single values (at least the ones which are new since CCV)?
