Is there something i need to change in MSAFluidTuioDemo before i use it with my touch screen?
when i run the sketch it works perfectly with the mouse, but when i try to control it with touch it operates more like a paint application, has anyone else had this problem?
Any help would be appreciated,
Graham

Hi Graham, which tracker are you using? The fluid demo relies on the tracker sending correct finger velocities in the TUIO packages. tBeta didn’t use to send these velocities, but I believe it has been updated so if you download the new version it should be fine.

P.S. Just a few minutes ago I posted a C++ version of the tuio demo for openframeworks (using ofxTuio)

Yay! Saw this on OF forum. Thanks memo!!

Yeah, new tbeta (now called Community Core Vision) bins going out within next day or so. You can get the source already though http://nuicode.com/projects/tbeta

So does the ps3 tbeta not support velocities? Also, I just downloaded touchlib v2 from the sourceforge site and after setting it up I still get the “paint” like reaction where no velocities are sent. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

I guess I missed the ccv news, but now running ccv 1.2 I have the same issue, velocities seem to not be sent or understood. Does anyone else have this?

Whoops! I just figured out that ccv WAS sending the correct velocities, but in the TUIOHandler.java file the variable tuioCursorSpeedMult is set to 0.02f, where it really shines on a 50” screen at ~ 1.0f.

Edit that one variable and you should be in business grmcom!

actually CCV was sending finger velocity per frame whereas the fluid demo is expecting velocity per second. So yea, you will need to scale up the velocities coming from CCV quite a bit (by about 30x or 60x depending on what fps CCV is processing the video at). I believe the CCV on the SVN has been updated to send velocity per second

Hiya, Memo! Thanks again for your work! It’s great!
I’m don’t use tBeta or CVV, but my custom tracker build in Jitter, and all works perfect, but sometimes I’ve crash looks like just black screen with no any interaction with TUIO and mouse moves… just black screen and no errors in Processing…
Why it can happens? I’ve suppose that it start happens when I install latest TUIO library in Processing… but it can be not really reason…

Thanks for your time and sorry for bad english!
From Russia with love!

Hi,

I downloaded MSAFluid library and tried the sample examples given there.
MSAFluidDemo is working fine but when i tried to run MSAFluidTUIODemo then following exception occured:

java.lang.RuntimeException: public PGraphicsOpenGL(int width, int height, PApplet parent) does not exist.
at processing.core.PApplet.createGraphics(PApplet.java:1257)
at processing.core.PApplet.size(PApplet.java:1015)

at processing.core.PApplet.run(PApplet.java:1562)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619)

I have opengl library in Processing/library folder and checked that PGraphicsOpenGL.java file is there.Still this exception is occuring.

Can anyone there please help me solve this issue?
