Hi,
Frederic Friess has been my bachelor student at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences and he has done a great job with implementing a fiducial interaction framework as an addition to the Touchlib’s AS3 Tuio classes. Now he wishes to make that framework open source.

Thus, everyone who is interested can check out this framework on the fiducialtuioas3 Google code page and on my blog. You will find an example on how to use fiducialtuioas3 in the zip file that you can download there.

You can see some functionality in this video that Frederic has made from his project Vispol Tangible, which is an addition to Vispol that has been described in the forum here:

I’ve updated the fiducialtuioas3 classes to work with TUIO via TCP socket (I’ve integrated those TUIO TCP classes from http://www.touchgateway.com/?p=70).

With the help of Mehmet Akten’s TUIO UDP->TCP bridge you can get rid of Flosc and this XML overhead.

How can I use touchlib’s RotatableScalable class under FiducialTUIOAS3?? I tried to import the touchlib/as3/int , but there are come errors.

the structure of the source packages is different. we moved everything that is tuio related from flash.events.* into the package tuio.*.
FiducialTUIOAS3 is stripped of the examples like RotatableScalable, Physics and so on. thus, you will have to add RotatableScalable to your project on your own and change the import paths in it appropriately from flash.events.* to tuio.*.

So do you use Just Reactivision for both multi gesture and fiducial or do you use Reactivision just for the fiducial and CCV for the gesture recognitions using fingers?

there are different choices you can make if you like to use fiducials as well as multitouch:
- you can use reactivision and the built-in blob engine (which i actually don’t like)
- you can use reactivision for fiducial tracking and ccv for multitouch and use a tool like splitcam if you want to use only one camera (like here: http://johannesluderschmidt.de/lang/en-us/unfocus-–-focus/718/ )
- we built a mixture out of the touchlib multitouch engine and the fiducial engine from reactivision at my university called touchReac (creative name, i know, i know). however, this seems to work the best on our table the virttable and others had problems with it…

no, so far it is not available for download.

i’ll see if i can make it available for download in the next days. i just don’t want to give support for it. but i know that people will ask tons of questions and i’ve got really few time at the moment.
