Can anyone tell me if this is the right stuff?

http://www.10outof10.co.uk/acatalog/Projection_Screens.html

The first item in the list:

2100 Grey (Per Linear Metre) (1.4m wide)

Price:  £15.45 Including VAT (Ex-VAT: £13.15)

I don’t want to spend money on the wrong thing!

that’s where i bought my rosco, they gave me a lot longer than 1m! maybe I got the end of the roll or something.

What do you want to use ur rosco for? I found polyester drafting film to be more usable than the rosco (and cheaper)....

Mostly because I can’t find polyester drafting film, either online or locally!

Hey Joobs,

Is it an up-to date info on polyester drafting film? I mean that its better than rosco? (for FTIR)
Where can I find it in europe, if it is a better solution.

Thanks,
Greg

hey… i am using the plastic drafting film for my FTIR.... works super good.... but there is one problem .. the projection gives a visible hot spot on the surface the moment i project anything white… (which i guess can be fixed with two layers and stromger IR) so most of my interfaces are on black background. the film is glossy on one side and matte finish on the other… keeping the matte finish towards the projector side helpas a bit… else the cam picks some of the IR reflected from the glossy surface. ... in india its called Garware film and is easily available at any architectural supplies store.

PS .. dont confuse it with the paper equivalent .. (gateway drafting paper)… it works fine but being paper, gets wrinkeld and greasy more easily over handling....

I’ve heard some yes and no’s about wether you need some sort of tracing paper between the rosco and the silicone rubber. So which one is it now? And I’d like to ask Joobs or deej the same question but now about the drafting film. I might go check out this option aswell, although the Rosco isn’t as expensive as I thought it would be. wink

Thanks grin

Well I don’t really know how come its so cheap at this online store. I ordered directly from Rosco and a half a meter cost me £69.4.- !!!!
Anyways I just sent an email to the European office to ask whats going on, we will see what the will say. I presume they’ll say something thats not the original rosco… But if it is about the same quality, then who cares…
