Really amazing work… Congrats to the developers. But is it true, I hear this will be closed source, is there any truth to this? or will you be making this open so you can give back to the community that has given, so much to you, and everyone here.

Good work Jonah, that’s pretty sweet.

@Taha I think most of us are here because we recognise the commercial prospects of such technology. I don’t think Jonah owes anyone anything!

thanks for reply, We have modified the source code. As we know ,there are a lot of bugs in tbeta, we have spent much time and energy on this.Next I will use one computer to control 8-cams.

yes , The cameras I used is not for Multitouch, it is for a roll demo project. I use these 4-cams just to show what I have done!

I definitely agree with Taha. You should share your work.
Would you be able to write tbeta on your own, and that quickly? Don’t think so..
Or at least, don’t boast and keep it for yourself.

By ‘ourself’ you mean everyone for himself or the community as ‘ourself’? Because if it’s the community as ‘ourself’ then i think everyone on the NUI-group forum accounts as a member of ‘ourself’ including the maker of CCV and anyone who modifies it. Just my $0.02

But great work Jonah for proving that it’s possible with CCV.

@danhigham: I have no issues of using this technology for commercial projects… what i do believe is in contribution back to the community. I’ve been involved in multiple commercial projects some as large as Cityscape and the Cannes Film Festival. But at the end of the day i always given something back to the community. If people just use this community for one way traffic where they just take and don’t share then very quickly this community will fade away. And the ideas and the skills of the core contributors of NUI Group will fade away with the community.

I’ve tried this, but the computer only sees one ps3 camera regardless of how many you have hooked up.

It’s a driver limitation I think Peau - at least AlexP’s current driver doesn’t assign a unique ID to each connected cam, so they can’t be used simultaneously.  I’d imagine this would work with other USB cams just fine, and likely will on Alex’s next release if he opens his multi-cam compatible driver.

My god , I don’t know this cause such dispute. It is not my original idea and I just show CCV can handle multicam. Someone ask me to open source code because he doesn’t use for commercial project.  I agree, but you are sure someone else like you don’t use it for commercial project too. anyway , I have no plan to make it public this time. Sorry.
