Hi guys..

I’m developing a 3x0,45m table and for that I have 3 cameras (Philips SPC900NC) but no software (CCV, AmCap, Windows Media player) can recognize 2 of them. Just one.

I already have the VHMulticam software installed and it works good.

Does anybody know why can’t those cameras be recognized by the OS?

this is a driver issue. most customers dont use
more than one camera at a time for their purposes.
in fact there is no reason for the avarage joe to do so.
considering this i understand that most? manufacturers
dont care about the possibility to run 2 identical cams at once.
the driver just lacks the code to distinguish between them.

Like Tomek said, its probably a driver issue.

You could try to see if you can run multiple of them in Linux (use camstream or smth). Be sure to put the cameras on different usb hosts to ensure the performance.

@MashineGun: I mean I already tested the VHMulticam with a Philips cam and another camera from a different brand but now i have 3 Philips cams and they don’t work.

@tomek+Falcon4ever: I think you guys are right about the driver issue but I can’t find a solution.

if someone has the posible solution or something better, please help me out rasberry

thanks!

have you tried plugging them into two different USB host controllers? ie one on the motherboard and one on a PCI USB card.

Did you have any results with your Philips cams and VH Multi CAm? If you do, how many cams and how high is the frame rate you get with all cams working?
