I have some questions and I realy can’t find it easy in WEB.
First I’m sorry about my english.. I’m brasilian..

So, I need to develop I flash interface and I would like to know about the diferences between “touch” and “multi-touch”. I know multi-touch you can touch with more then 1 finger, but, if I buy a TV Touch Screen for exemple, I’ll can use this as a “multi-touch”?
Exist a tv only with “touch” and other, only with “multi-touch”?

Another thing that I’m looking for is how can I detect a Multi-Touch with ActionScript? So, I know how detect one finger, but two in the same time I realy can’t imagine how..

most ‘touch screens’ on the market today are single point touch and cannot be used for MT by simply changing the software.

However some of these single point touch screens can be modified both mechanicaly and by software to be used for MT.

The majority of touch screens demonstarted here on NUIgroup are built using optical techniques, meaning that they use an camera to track infrared blobs.

The other common methods of providing a multitouch surface are ‘Resistive and Capacative’ the capicitive type is the way the IPhone works.  Both use the difference in an electrical field to identify blobs.

The only way to tell for sure if what you are buying can be used for MT is by contacting the manufacturer.

If it is not screaming multitouch then i doubt that it will easily support it.

a sua pergunta foi qual a diferença entre touch e multi-touch né.. pelo nome vc ja nota a diferença, touch é apenas um toque e o multi-touch sao MULTIplos toques.
um monitor touchscreen vendido no mercado trabalha com um ponto(touch ou toque) apenas. Os dispositivos mostrados aki nesse forum sao produzidos por tecnicas que produzem um monitor “touchscreen” pórem aceita mais de um toque. Os toques sao conhecidos atraves de uma webcam que captura os pontos infravermelhos.
