It’s used in place of touchlib. It simulates touch input.

Nacho, works great. Do you know what the changes are? It seems to have the same problem as other. For example, if you press down and don’t move, the blob is removed (so you can’t do a hold in place type thing). Also it re-triggers events when moving when it shouldn’t. Overall it’s decent enough for testing. Thanks again for the update.

@ mj / gordee ... just grab the simulator from the link on the first post (ver 1.4) and update to newer version by replacing the jar file from the archives on the later posts… make sure you have the latest java runtime since the simulator is a java executable ... once you have this running ... just start the flosc and then the flash app… it works just like touchlib without the table setup (thats why its a simulator smile) .. you dont need to run touchlib if u’re using the simulator ...

hope this helps

cheers!!!

I’d like to point you to the final version 1.4 of the TUIO Simulator, which is much more feature complete and stable than the various CVS builds provided in this thread.
Probably it would be best to remove all the outdated builds from here and just link to the actual release instead:

Hello,

first of all thanks for posting this great app.
I am a complete newbie to this. can any one explain me in steps how I get this simulator to work on a mac?
I’ve runned the svn checkout http://touchlib.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ touchlib in the terminal.
And made the .fla and .as as mentioned in the http://wiki.nuigroup.com/Building_Your_First_Multi-Touch_Application_in_Flash
The swf seems to work, I get three blocks. But it doesn’t correspond with the simulator.
Is there a step I forgot?
Hope to hear from you…

Many thanks
Esther
