Hi folks.

I’m Alexander. I live in Athens, Hellas (Greece). I’ve just started my MT project.
So far, I have succesfully make my really old & cheap Crypto Compact II webcamera, act as IR camera. It works great with a little box and a glass+A4 printer paper as the MT surface. Next step is to build arrays of 20 IR Leds (x4) to put them on the botom of the MT table, for the IR lightning purpose, powered from 12V source of PC PSU.
After that I’ll proceed with the surface. I’m intend to use a piece of plexiglass and a shower curtain. Then a mirror and a small projector will show the image on surface.
My PC will do the heavy work and an ATI X1650 (spare) will be my graphics adaptor. All powered by a 600W PSU.
Finally the table will be made of wood, painted black inside (to avoid light reflections from the enviroment-is this a good idea?)

As you all find out, I’ll try to made a MT coffee-table as cheap as it can be.

I’m happy for being a member of MT community! Greetings to all!

I think its good to paint black inside the Table wall because it will absorb most of the light and Noise will be less in that case ... best of luck smile

hi again!

Today i had good news. It will be a great chance for me, to get a 46” TFT-LCD TV (an old one) but it’s FullHD (from the first series ever came out on FullHD). I hope this chance be true and then I’m replanning my MT table to a rearDI+LCD...and see what happen.

The monster of 46 inches tested right now! Got it only for 100 euros(!!!!) and it’s working. It has only a small scratch on the LCD caused by me (damn!) but its to small that it seems like 10 burn pixels.
Tested with my computer, running on 1280x1024, work well! Placed behind the modified cam hand tracking was great. Sorry at the moment there is no pictures because all things tested in foot!

Now it’s time to get the LCD place on a close box and test it further for blobs, etc smile
