Hey Guys,

just some little buzz (sorry) to let you know that the project is alive. I have put together a very rough, very crude and very dirty little presentation quickly made with uniTUIO for you. You can download and make a test-drive if you like. The presentation is for now optimised (and tested ONLY!) on OSX at the resolution of 1024x768. So be aware that there will be probably a LOT of bugs running on other resolutions and OS. Also the Window version is FULLY untested - it is just as it cames out by compiling the SAME source for windows - so any comment regarding the windows version is highly welcome.

Please expect some major announcements regarding the uniTUIO project at latest by end of this Month. We are heavily cleaning up some code and doing some wepage work right now. I am sure it’s worth waiting… wink

Here is a small video preview of some fishes. Sorry for the quality - but is just made with my iPhone…

Now this IS good.  I’m new to all this multitouch stuff and have tried all the apps I can find.  I’ve really been struggling to get them all to work on OSX 10.6 - maybe up to 50%.

This Looks FANTASTIC so far.  Really smooth movement with the photo’s and the 3D aspect of it is also excellent.

I especially like your crazy black ball :o)

awesome sander,

nice demo. very impressive. is there any chance you and ben would be releasing as open source your unity/tuio client code, not the code for this demo but maybe the c# and j script stuff you guys are using to interface with unity. i use bbosc frequently and find it very useful so i’m sure your event manager, and object hit tester would be equally as useful in unity. im finishing up some mt apps at the moment. i’ll swing by your blog and make some comments and what not when im finished. just got a “touch co” system in at the lab and ordered some lasers so i got to get that stuff working so i have had to put my demos to the side for a bit. all the same great stuff sander.

cheers

hey papakion, well the fishes are a completely other application. It has nothing to do with uniTUIO CE - i am just using uniTUIO along with some fairly cool “flocking” or “swarm” scripts for getting the touch input into Unity3d. I would like to encourage you trying to put something like that together by yourself in Unity wink For the beginning i would suggest you to try to build something easy and cool in Unity (maybe even go through the Unity tutorials??). After that you could grab the steering scene from here (it is not what we are using, but also very nice and easy to understand) http://www.arges-systems.com/articles ,,, For the water-stuff (ripples) in unity you could use the scripts/scene from Ben’s blog http://benbritten.com/category/blog/

The fish-scene i am running in the video is actually a commercial application whre we put in a lot of time (and $$$). Maybe we will open the source once uniTUIO GOLD will start. Or i will publish at least a compiled and branded app just for your all pleasure. Nothing promissed yet wink

Cheers,
