Hi guys, I have interesting question. I trying build DI setup from my Sony KDF-50E2000 (price around 1200$). Its 50” rear projection tv.
I has booked one Fire-i XGAb (b/w) with unibarin 2.1mm wide lens. In tvset I have only 380mm from back panel to front rear. Width of rear 1100mm. My camera must have 80 degrees angle of view for see full screen.

Question1: unibarin 2.1mm wide lens must have 80 or more degree. Its true or not? Who know? How as I can calculate this? . Now I know this lens have 80.95° wide! but this lens have Anti-IR coating. crap… 8[

Question2: Can I use my native RPTV diffusion screen for DI setup?

I has booked 100 units of SFH485 for my DI setup.
Question3: How I must use IR-diods? Near screen in case or build couple of IR projectors?

Thanx for help! 8)

answer on question 1, that depends on how much of the screen you want to capture, if you put your cam at a specific distance and you dont capture the entire screen you obviously have to get a lens that does capture the entire screen

the answer on question 2 is basically something you have to test yourself, i bet there is nobody here that has exactly the same setup as you....I could be wrong though, but it’s not very likely

furthermore it looks like an interesting project, hope all goes well
