I figured everyone that doesn’t want to compile touchlib should still be able to download the latest version. So I compiled the latest source, including the new simple highpass filter, and am making available for download.

Download Touchlib v74

I have to give a big thanks to Falcon4ever for his killer compiling instructions.

Thanks for posting this Brett. I’ve been meaning to try to post recent versions as they come up. I’m glad you got to it before me. =)

hey..thank for the bins… but i kinda figured out that it requires opencv bins and cmu1394 driver installed for 1394camera.dll… so posting a zip file with the essential dll’s for the ones who dont have opencv installed and the cmu 1394 driver ...

might just help smile

Thanks Brett,

I tried these out with Deej’s missing OpenCV dlls / 1394 driver, but each time I try to run configapp, it reports:

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Previous versions of configapp were working great, but I lack the compiling smarts to make my own version to include highpass filtering, so I tried this version

Thanks Falcon4ever, with the dlls I have the newer configapp running, and a window for highpass is opening.

Unfortunately, I have to work today, so I won’t be able to adjust my screen until tonight.

Thanks for the help - I’ll be trying your guide to compile my own config app in future - is Visual Studio 2005 Express fine for compiling?

I have never tried the express version, so it might need a work around (GUI stuff might be missing aswell).
But feel free to try it out wink

i have a strange issue upon configapp and calibrating. everything works like a charm with configapp and i can calibrate just wonderful, but then starting any other app (smoke or osc) something completly different gets loaded, but not my config.xml… the whole thing is totally miscalibrated and the settings are crap so i hardly detect anything. i wondered if configapp does not save my settings in config.xml but the date/time is correct and the settings seem good.

anyway, it doesnt get loaded and this frustrates me :/

anyone help ?

BTW: i figured that there are different filter/sliders throughout the different touchlib builds. like i got one older with blur/noise (was called touchlib rec. 10-23-07) which worked best for me so far (performance and tracking wise!). i wonder if these settings are configable throughout the config.xml file ?

sorry for noobness question, but i was long gone from the software side, due to heavy tinkering on the hardware side :>

EDIT: Figured it! .. and HOLY MOLY is the newest rev FAST! i’ve never seen that tracking performance on my machine. damn good work!

I’ve compiled a new version.
http://www.multigesture.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/touchlib-rev359.zip

- contains the new barrel distortion correction filter
- instructions can be found in the barrel distortion correction tool package
- memory leak bug fixed
- improved performance (1.5~2.0x faster on the barrel distortion correction filter)
