hey all… we’re working on a game for kids in which we need to flip object on the stage… could anyone suggest a gesture for it and if any such gesture has already been coded in flash… we are only using drag and rotateable currenlty and don’t need scaleable.. is it possible to modify scalable to something that is more like a gesture for flipin’ things on the stage…

i’m also flipping some items around in an app. meaning flip them over to display the back. the gesture i’m using for that is press finger to the left/right of the object you want to flip (not on it) an move your finger over it.

<-|-o

o - finger
<-- movement
| - object

those that say it can’t be done shouldn’t interrupt those doing it

I think that is the gesture that Tim uses to close windows in 180?

could be, dunno, it makes sense in a way as well to me, but i would rather go with a big X to close an app or something like that, or a gesture for a menu, where u can select to close the app, so u don’t close it unintentionally

Donovans suggestion seems natural.

But heres yet another suggestion you could try: “double poking” as oposed to “double clicking”? We had a couple of field studies last friday with our prototype, and we noticed a lot of people double poking an object to do “something” with the object. The application that was tested was the simple photo application where a double poking gesture had no effect. But the effect could eventually be to turn the object around.
