Hi.
I’w been planing to build a dsi lcd settup for some time now.
And today I started to think about the new tv’s with LED lighting.
does anyone know what they look like inside.

would it be posible to use in a touch setup?
ore more to the point is there any reason to buy one instead of the now cheeper “normal” lcd tv’s?

This made me think, I wonder if you could add IR LEDs to the white backlight ones and achieve a uniform DI illumination?

I was under the impresion that a “normal” lcd tv used leds on the sides?
and the new “led lcd” s used the RGB Dynamic LED ??

I might be wrong here. but one of the seling points I’w heard was the dynamic colors and true black.

there are certain LED TVs that have an array of LEDs on the back.  This is beneficial because its more uniform, and theres a new feature that i forget what its called but its where the LEDs that are behind parts of the matrix that are black are shut off or dimmed.  This makes blacks blacker, and ups contrast ratios.  YOu can normally opt to turn this function off, but yeah, theyre normally more expensive.  In my opinion, if youre gonna get a side lit LED TV, you might as well get a normal one since they are both gonna be side lit.  Just get the cheaper one.

GOod luck!
