Researchers at the University of Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany have devised a “Tangible Table” based interface that employs a series of objects to handle all of the controls. They are using VVVV, and have released their fiducial tracking patch.
“Our goal was to build a working prototype of a tangible table-based user interface. In contrast to a simulation, this environment facilitates the evaluation and testing of user interactions. The principles of interaction and graphical behavior had higher priority.“
