In case you hadn’t heard, Microsoft and the Industrial Designers of America (IDSA) holds a competition in which the challenge is to “rethink the Windows-based PC experience and the role it plays in people’s lives.” Contestants are asked to “envision how form factor influences the digital lifestyle” in four categories: personal productivity, entertainment, communication & mobility, and living & lifestyle.
I went through and selected some of my favorite contestants of 2005 and 2006, you can go see them all at the start something website. I really enjoyed the first two, and defiantly can see a future in a desktop like the Real Desktop, and I know all of use here at the NUI Group dream of having such perfect surfaces.
